Many fond memories of those epic trips we made to Europe (and beyond) during the '70s and 80s in search of steam. You will be forever in my thoughts when I am out on the lineside taking pictures.
The 57's horn broke the stillness of the morn
When the sleeper, dead on time, came pounding down the line.
He sat there at the throttle, he just knew he was the best
And he was Colin and he was the oldest driver in the West!

Colin, you were a great travelling companion. Enjoyed your company on many trips abroad since 1991. We’ve photographed many steam engines. Rest in peace my friend. Barry.
